Should I Gain Weight Before a Brazilian Butt Lift?

woman in red sweater pondering

Women interested in a Brazilian butt lift can become confused when discovering that fat transfer is a key element to their treatment. While some women can be happy to learn that they can use their unwanted fat to plump their butts, others are concerned about whether they have enough fat to use in the first place.

Women who identify with the previous statements usually wonder if they have to gain fat before their Brazilian butt lifts so they can have an adequate amount of tissue to use.

Is Weight Gain Necessary?

Although the quantity of fat you have is essential for your BBL, patients should fully understand that gaining weight before is not ideal.

Maintaining a constant, healthy weight before the Brazilian butt lift leads to more aesthetic results. Gaining weight for a BBL could lead to unsatisfying results and even increase the risks of health-related complications.

The Brazilian butt lift's goal is to shape your overall figure. Weight gain would go against that principle.

When you gain weight, you can't control where the fat will show or whether it's useful for a Brazilian butt lift. Fat can sometimes develop around the organs or as intra-abdominal fat, which isn't accessible via liposuction.

Weight fluctuations in themselves are never recommended before or after a procedure, given that the transferrable or transferred fat can shrink or expand in size, compromising the symmetry of your results.

What If I Have Low Body Fat?

If you feel as if you do not have enough fat for a Brazilian butt lift, do not worry.

Most experienced surgeons nowadays can work with limited amounts of fat, given the advancements towards surgical precision, bringing you a fuller and more desirable shape.

Remember that fat can be harvested from several areas, such as the inner and outer thighs, arms, flanks, and abdomen.

It's not only about having bigger buttocks but also about filling out the dents and emphasizing your curvature in all of the right places for a more refined and balanced appearance.

Women who lack adequate fat to transfer to the buttocks can consider other alternatives such as synthetic injections or buttocks implants for their augmentation needs. Nevertheless, we firmly maintain that an AirSculpt fat transfer to the buttocks is the best option on the market.

Knowing Your BMI

Your body mass index (BMI) measures your overall body fat in relation to your height and weight. It's essential to know your BMI, given that the higher it is, the more risks you could experience during surgery.

The optimal candidates for a Brazilian butt lift are at the near limit of their average weight (18.5-24.9) to overweight (25.0-29.9).

If your BMI is classified as obese, or 30.0 or above, it's recommended that you lose a slight amount of weight to ensure a healthier recovery process.

Eating Healthy

One of the more essential aspects to keep in mind when preparing for your Brazilian butt lift is that what you eat can either help you or be detrimental to your recovery.

Pay a bit more intention to the food that you consume. Make sure that you're making healthier choices and supplying your body with nutrient-dense foods that will help keep your fat healthy and of high quality for the Brazilian butt lift.

Of course, do not begin consuming in excess because even the healthiest of foods in a surplus can cause you to gain weight.

If it's your objective to lose weight, find the right balance between diet and exercise. Low carbohydrate diets are generally recommended because you will shed off fat but simultaneously consume healthy meals.

Aspects You Must Avoid

In the weeks up to your surgery, make sure to stay away from recreational activities such as drinking, smoking, and sunbathing for at least two weeks before surgery.

Elite Body Sculpture Has The Best Fat Transfer

Elite Body Sculpture now provides Windy City residents (plus 16 other locations!) the opportunity to undergo Chicago's safest and most comfortable Brazilian butt lift.

Even if you're well within your healthy weight, Elite Body Sculpture's precision-engineered technology can extract fat from the most complex of areas and use it efficiently to sculpt your buttocks.

Not only that, we're able to remove or transfer fat throughout your body without using invasive surgical techniques, which allows for a much safer procedure compared to a Brazilian butt lift.

For example, AirSculpt® Power BBL™ doesn't use a scalpel, needle, or general anesthesia to enhance and contour your buttocks. Therefore, you're awake during your procedure and won't have to worry about adverse side effects from general anesthesia.

In terms of recovery, we're as premium as it can get. The average recovery period for a Brazilian butt lift lasts up to three months and sometimes six months for the results to be fully apparent. With Elite, you'll only have two days of downtime and two weeks of refraining from exercise.

Elite Body Sculpture is designed to ensure a comfortable but life-changing experience. If that's what you're interested in, call our Chicago office for your complimentary consultation
